At Hillmoor Optical, we are committed to protecting your health and vision with the latest tools in ocular science and technology. Our new Optovue Retinal Camera provides early detection of any condition that could affect your eye sight. This state-of-the-art camera creates complete retinal, optic disc, cornea and fundus imaging solutions by creating a scan of your entire eye. Fundus photography is the process of taking serial photographs of the interior of your eye through the pupil. This advanced imaging camera utilizes the IFusion® Comprehensive OCT and Retinal Camera Platform developed by Clarion Medical Technologies, a leader in optical imaging solutions. OCT stands for Optical Coherence Tomography, a non-invasive imaging test. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. With OCT, we have the ability to see each of the retina’s distinctive layers and map and measure their thickness. These measurements help with diagnosis and treatment for glaucoma and diseases of the retina. Common retinal diseases include age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease. We invite you to read on and learn about the many features of this amazing imaging device.
Features of the Optovue Retinal Camera
The iWellnessExam® is an Optovue exclusive that delivers a quick, easy OCT scan to promote better overall patient eye health, creating a single, comprehensive report that depicts retinal thickness and other key metrics providing important information to aid in ocular disease diagnosis and management.
iCam Fundus Camera
This high-performance fundus camera delivers posterior and anterior segment images with exceptional depth and clarity. With iFusion, you can quickly overlay iVue OCT images onto the fundus photos.
3D and En Face Imaging
3D and en face view provides multi-layer, high-resolution virtual dissection of the retina and optic disc, and depicts them in a way that preserves the retina’s natural curvature. This reduces distortion for simpler interpretation and enhanced 3D visual assessment.
Retinal Mapping and Analysis
Retina mapping with normative comparison, retina change analysis and 3D retinal imaging with en face presentation are all depicted in high-resolution, easy-to-interpret color reports.
Epithelial Thickness Mapping
Optovue’s exclusive epithelial thickness mapping is the first non-contact, quantitative measure of the corneal epithelia and stroma that helps you evaluate early ocular surface changes to aid in the diagnosis of corneal disease. A quick two-second scan identifies areas of thickening or thinning related to dry eye disease, keratoconus, or previous refractive surgery.
Vault mapping enables precise visualization of the lens-to-eye relationship for specialty lens fitting. Similar to the pachymetry scan, the iVue, iFusion and iScan OCT systems map the space between the scleral lens and the cornea, providing an accurate clearance measurement.
Advanced Ganglion Cell Complex (GCC) Imaging
Advanced GCC imaging reveals ganglion cell and axon loss in optic nerve head disease. GCC thickness mapping improves clarity in structural change identification. Optovue’s exclusive FLV% and GLV% analyses increase GCC sensitivity and specificity.
